Read the following FAQs before contacting the Auctions office.

How do I get started?

To participate in Auctions Online, an eHawaii.gov account is required to log in. Create a free account at https://login.ehawaii.gov/lala. Before participating in auctions, please read the Terms and Conditions.

Current State of Hawaii employees are not eligible to bid.

How do I bid?

Once you're logged in, bidding is easy:

  • Select the item you want to bid on.
  • Submit a maximum bid that you are willing to pay that is higher than the opening / minimum bid.
  • If you are outbid, you will be asked to enter a higher amount.
  • To watch the activity of an item, click "Watch Item" and it will appear on the My Auctions page.

If your maximum bid is more than one bid increment over previous high bid, then the current high bid on public display updates by one bid increment until your maximum bid is outbid by another bidder. To watch the auction activity of a particular item, click on "Watch Item" and it will appear on your My Auctions page. You will need to refresh your My Auctions page to see the current status of auction activity.

By placing a bid for any item, you agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Are there notifications?

Email messages will be sent to you when:

  • you have been outbid
  • you have won an auction
  • as the winning bidder, you pay for an item (payment confirmation email)
  • as the winning bidder, you have yet to pay for an item (reminder email 1 day prior to payment expiration date)

How do I pay?

Log in and go to your "My Auctions" page. The item you won will be posted under "Items Awaiting Payment." Click on the item you won. You will be directed through a series of payment screens. Enter the information requested.

Once your payment is accepted, print the receipt and bring pick-up location. If payment is not made within seventy-two (72) hours of the close of the auction, the item will be deleted from your "My Auctions" page. For non-payment of bids won, there may be legal consequences. Please see Terms and Conditions.

How do I pick up my item(s)?

Auction items will have designated pick-up locations. See the "Additional Information" section on the details page for each item's pick-up location.

After successful payment for a winning bid (or successful purchase of set-price item), you will receive a confirmation email which may contain additional pick-up instructions. Please bring your receipt and a valid picture ID to the designated pick-up location.
